INTERNET ADDICTION
Adolescents' dependence on the Internet is increasingly common and increasingly strong, to the extent that they develop behaviors and symptoms characteristic of substance abuse problems (depression, breakdown of family communication, social phobia, self-harm, sleeping troubles).

A recent study shows that about half of American teenagers (48.1%) are dependent on the Web.
When you take your phone and you connect to the internet you feel good. You are aware of the latest news in the world. But getting informed with the internet is not the right solution because you are prompted directly to see something else that will make you want to get back on the internet and that will push you to addiction. While you can learn about TV and focus on the important things. You can also subscribe to a newspaper that is a healthy thing for the brain.

Another reason that drives you to addiction is the fact of talking all the time to friends using social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Snapshot, and WhatshApp ... We can say that communicating with friends is a good thing. But since you can do it at home why don't you see them for real? Seeing your friends makes you go out instead of staying hooked on you phones and that to have a good time with them. It is life, the one that is real and beyond the internet.

Of course you have moments of free time that you spend at home, times when you have nothing to do.
Then instinctively you take your phone. You go to YouTube, on social networks, you listen to music ...
while if you put the phone on the computer aside you realize that you have plenty of time you can spend
elsewhere. As in the previous paragraphs you can go out to enjoy outside things and even do sports.

Internet is an invention with which it is easy to communicate with the other end of the world and yet it does the opposite effect. If you have trouble separating, then ask your friends or family for help. If you prefer not to talk, doing sports is a good way to be healthy and to be independent of the internet.

These percentages are tremendously high. Students fall asleep in class because they make an excessive use of their phones before going to sleep. But this is not the only problem. Some schools allow students to use their Their phones in class, but only for school activities. What do the students do? if you are reading this it's to late....you're addicted

Have you ever wondered why  you are so tired in the morning? Did you know that it could be related to the time you spend on your electronic devices? Did you realise that the time you spend on the internet is time you could spend with your family and loved ones? Did you know that all of this could complicate your time at home?

Recent studies show that spending nighttime on an electronic device can affect you during the day, such as the one done by the Seton Hall University's School of Health and Medical Sciences and the JFK Neuroscience Institute in Edison. In this study they questioned teenagers about the time they spend on the internet while they should be sleeping, and the results are surprising.(i will put the link down below)

It is true that when we speak about technology we normally refer to new generations, but the problem is that it is not only affecting teenagers but also adults, and as a result families are driven a part and have forgotten forgot what family time is. Technology can make things at home more complicated if  there are no limits, and if the adults of the family use the technologies without regulations it is certain that the kids looking up to them will do the same.  As a result teenagers do not like spending time at home or if they do they would close themselves in their own bedrom and isolate themselves from the world. Parents of course, have an important role.  Instead of making the communal living pleasant they are making it more uncomfortable so the kid/teen does not know where to go and he/she is lost.

Nowadays people are becoming more dependent on technologies, especially their cellphones, but little do they know it could be dangerous for their health. Cellphones produce different kind of electromagnetic radiation that could increase the risk of getting cancer and not only that , but it could also affect your blood flow even if neither of those effects have not been proven yet.

In conclusion, technology affects our life in many different ways as much negative as positive.  The negatives are more visible and alarming while the positives are always being eclipsed by the negatives. Starting from a young age to evaluate and to learn when to use technology could prevent having problems in the future. It is never too late to have a better life and to improve your family time.

Have you ever felt cyber-addicted?

  Have you ever felt cyber-addicted?

What is cyber-addiction?

Also called internet addiction, cyber-addiction is defined as a problematic internet use, referring to an excessive internet use which interferes with daily life.

Things you do if you're a cyber-addicted:

  • You sleep with your phone in the bed or on your bedside table.
  • You panic when you go out and you forget the phone.
  • When you're out, you constantly search for your phone in your pockets.
  • If you don't find your phone, you start to be exasperated, but after you became aware that you have had it all the time in your hand.
  • Your phone is more organised than your bedroom.
  • You have a lot of covers, just for them to match your clothes.
  • You see a person fall in the street and you laugh, but when your phone falls you get scared.
  • You have a clock but you look at the time on your phone.
  • When the teacher asks you to please turn off the phone, you put it in silent mode.
  • When you see someone doing something dangerous instead of asking to stop, you take your phone and start to film it.
  • When you arrive to anyplace the first thing you do is ask for the WiFi password.

Emotional and social signs:

  • Anxiety: You feel anxiety when you feel you'll not have time to spend your usual time or the time you would like on the internet. Another example of anxiety related to internet addiction, would be when your parents confiscate your phone, you may feel that you will be incommunicado.
  • Feelings of guilt: It may had happened to you, that you should have done some work or an errand but you haven't done it or complete it, just because maybe you were so focused on internet that you've been just postponing it. Sometimes you end up not doing what you were supposed to, and this can make you feel guilty, because of the time you have spent on internet.
  • Dishonesty: When they ask you how much time you have spent on internet, you lie about it.
  • Unable to keep schedules: The internet has you so catch that you're not able to keep schedules, you use this time to surf the internet.
  • No sense of time.
  • Avoiding doing work.
  • Isoluation: Everytime your friends ask you of going out, you give them an excuse, in order to continue using the internet.
  • Bad grades: Because you avoid doing work, your grades get worst.

Physical signs:

  • Backache.
  • Headaches.
  • Weight gain or loss.
  • Sleeplessness.
  • Blurry visión.

Why is cyber-addiction so common nowadays between teenagers?

Nowadays, there are a lot of teenagers who feel  as if they don't belong anywhere. This may be because they are introverted and so it's difficult for them to make friends, or maybe because they think they don't fit into society, the principal reasons are the bullying and lack of confidence. The internet is a splendid scape mean, however, even though it provides us a place where we can we ourselves and not to be judged, or whoever we want to, it's not reality, it is a double-edged knife, they only thing we manage to do is to trick ourselves.

How can I get rid of my addiction?

The first thing you should do, is establish some limits, maybe you could be only 5 hours surfing the internet instead of 7. With the time, it should be easier to you. A good challenge would be to spend a whole weekend doing another activities, and to leave the phone and the computer without charge.

Well I hope, I'd been helpful and thanks for reading my blog.

  how to stop internet addiction

Do you sleep less because you spend too much time on internet? Here are 3 things you can do to stop your internet addiction and to rest more or to become more healthy.

First you don't have to stop using the phone but you can try to do more sports or stuff that you like to do to spend less time on internet to "forget" about your phone or device.

Second you can try to have a monthly pay of the phone number in order to have less time to navigate on internet; otherwise you can try to put a time limit like a timer to stop you from going on internet.

Third, you can do something useful for your life! Get a job so if you work hard you gain more and more money for your self or maybe find a girlfriend that is not internet addicted like you,  someone to care for so you won't always stay with your phone.

When you find your hobby or sports that you like, you will forget about your phone or your device that occupied all your free time and your rest time so you become more healthy. Doing sports is good for your body, and resting is good for your brain and body. Then when you become used to it you will no longer use your device for that time and waste your rest time.

Welcome Excalibur25

Internet Addiction-Online Gaming Addictions

Welcome Excalibur25, TheProXSniper, or whatever your nickname is on the internet. I know that you are addicted to playing online games day and night, but you will of course not admit it. However, you have come to your right first stop -the stop of acknowledging addiction. In this blog, you will may come across your favorite games or maybe not, but you will definitely be reading more about what online gaming takes away from you without you even noticing it: things like your sleep, money and social life.

An Addiction to Be or Not to Be?

Even though online gaming is not considered to be an addiction by American Medical Association, there are neuroscientific reports showing that the same region of the brain activates when an alcoholic sees a beer like a gamer seeing a picture of a game. Gamers have been reported to spend 6.14 hours to an online game “daily.” If we do the maths right by assuming that this teenager goes to a full-day school and has to get up at 6:30 A.M. and leave school at 4 P.M., he has about 5 hours of free time. However, he has to eat and study for the next day, so he has about 2-3 hours free. A teenager requires at least 8 hours of sleep per day, but there’s a problem in our maths equations. The hours will surpass 24 hours. Thus, it causes the gamer to take time away from their sleep, and it causes them to have insomnia. Insomnia is a sleep deprivation problem which affects the daily lives of the teenagers and causes them to have lower grades and life performances. Therefore, do not escape to the virtual world just because something hurt your self-esteem.

$ - £ - ₺ - € - ¥    Problems

According to the statistics done by TechAddiction, online gaming addiction causes a few important problems, and one of the most important one is the financial one. As a teenager, you would probably not recognize this as a problem, but it unfortunately it is. According to an interview done by Daily News, a 13 years old kid secretly used his parents’ visa card and spent 1,000$ on video games. Since you are a teenager who will eventually be an adult with a job, you will begin to understand that earning money and knowing right places to spend it on is hard. However, you don’t have to “live and learn”, but be ready from today. Just keep on reading the blog for advices.

LOST: "My SOCIAL LIFE"

As I have told before, a gamer will try to steal some time from his bedtime to play more games, but sleeping is not the only time a teenager can steal from. Teeangers should be social and physically active with their real friends in the real world. Thus, they will learn how to act when they are among their friends and in a social environment with people of many ages. If they manage to succeed this, they will have better relationships with the people they will encounter. However, if they fail to do these kind of activities, they will have physical and socializing problems in the world. Now, you might think that you are being social by playing online games with your friends. Then, I want "you" to think about the time when you had a dinner with your family or went out with your friends and had fun with them. I think it's very rare, and you also know it.

"Send Some Medic Here"

In conclusion, "online gaming addiction" causes teenagers to have a sleep disorder that causes them to do poorly in their school and social lives. Teenagers should be taught how to be conservative with their money, have time and money limits that are spent on the games. The teenagers should go out with their friends more. Now you have done a favor to yourself by reading this blog, so now you know a few facts about your addiction. The only advice I can give you is that seek medical help and talk to people that you can easily open to.
